Modular Expansion is an artistic organization that encompasses both event production and a record label. It was founded by George Apergis and has been running successfully since 1998. The name “Modular Expansion” is inspired by the first analog modular synthesizers, in which different parts were connected to one another, forming an expansion. Modular Expansion is a recognized cultural body of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and has carried out various initiatives with the auspices and financial support of the Ministry of Culture, the Greek National Opera, the Archaeological Service, and the Municipality of Athens. Its projects and events include vinyl releases, art videos, and publishing activities. Modular Expansion is also a recipient of a European Design Award, having received the Silver Award in 2016 in the category of Music & Film Covers. Modular Expansion has hosted events across many European cities and renowned venues such as Berghain, Tresor, Suicide Club, Sisyphos, and Renate in Berlin, as well as in cities like London, Rome, Barcelona, Sofia, Warsaw, Moscow, Tel Aviv, and at prestigious locations in Athens.
The exhibition is presented at OpenArtLink 2025 | Piraeus Project, an initiative organised by CHEAPART and keramikos_23, aimed to unite international artists from diverse disciplines to explore innovation and creative exchange.
